PENRYN ATHLETIC 3 - WADEBRIDGE TOWN 1

Penryn opened their season's account twenty minutes into the game as Kayne Trevasksi finished with a half-volley from a pass by Adam Barnicoat. The home side doubled their lead on 32 minutes when Liam Streat made a great run to set up Kane to turn home his second goal of the game at the near post.

Kane had several gilt-edged chances after the break to complete his hat-trick but was unable to take advantage. The visitors were not giving up and with only 20 minutes remaining Paul Cox broke clear from the half-way line to hammer his shot past Jason Peters. However, even as Wadebridge were gaining the initiative Kirk Davis made sure of the three points with a goal on the stroke of full time.
