PENRYN ATHLETIC 4 - ST DENNIS 1

This began as a very one-way content as Penryn overwhelmed their visitors, taking an early lead in the fifth minute through a Greg Hobbs lobb. Dale Band showed a calm head when he notched up the home side's second before St Dennis hit a ten minute purple patch in which Chris Brown, Lee Rickard, Jason Warne and Carl Rickard all came close with worthwhile chances.

Just before the interval Pat Shaughnessy bundled his way through the visiting defence to end their resistance with Penryn's third of the game. The second half was a more equal affair but on 71 minutes Lee Rickard cut in from the left to score with a tremendous 20 yard shot to put the Division One leaders back in the game.

Unfortunately for them it turned out to be just a consolation goal as Penryn skipper Johnston sent the ball over for Hobbs to notch his second goal and seal a place in the last eight.
