OKEHAMPTON 1 - PENRYN ATHLETIC 5
Penryn got off to a flying start in their first game of the season against newcomers, Okehampton Argyle. Despite arriving late due to excessive traffic the visitors were quick off the mark and had the home side defending straight from the kick-off.
Penryn took the lead in the sixth minute when joint-Manager, Dale Band headed home from close range. Just five minutes later Huw Howlett was allowed too much room to run through and fired home from ten yards. Dan Richardson then increased the visitors' lead on the 24th minute with a well taken shot from the left-hand side of the area.
Penryn continued to pressure the home side, hitting the post, before Okehampton managed to reduce the arrears in the 42nd minute when Ben Ferguson fired home direct from a free-kick.
The second half saw Penryn take their foot of the pedal slightly and Okehampton came close to scoring. However, the visitors made certain of the result by scoring twice in the last five minutes of the game through Sean Johnston and Huw Howlett.
