PENRYN ATHLETIC 1 - MOUSEHOLE 3

Penryn Combination side continued to struggle in their attempts to retain the Combination League title. Early signs offered hope for the home side with both Steve Proctor and Martin Murphy being denied with good efforts on goal. Mousehole retaliated with John Tonkin having his shot tipped round the post but Penryn continued to create chances with Andrew Westgarth shooting over the bar from six yards.

Mousehole's goalkeeper, Craig Nicholls pulled off several good saves and Emile Ivanov was unlucky not to put the visitors ahead with a great chance which he scooped over the bar from close range.

It was in the second half when the home side finally got on the score sheet when Steve Proctor's shot was deflected into the back of the net. However, Mousehole hit back quickly with Ivanov turning and scoring from close range. Andrew Key, in the Penryn goal did well to save from a Tom Patrick volley but was unable to prevent Jack Wing from following up to tap the loose ball in, putting the visitors in front. It was Ivanov who gained the third when he latched onto Patrick's flick-on and drove his shot past Key.
