HAYLE 0 - PENRYN ATHLETIC 2

This was a deserved result for Penryn who gained ground on leaders Newquay who were busy dropping their first points of the season. The visitors were gifted their opening goal on five minutes when a cross from the left found Jay Cooper slipping leaving the ball to fall to Dan Richardson whose powerful drive found the back of the home net despite goalkeeper Shaun Carter getting a good hand to the ball.

Penryn had a lot of possession in the first half and only a couple of fine saves by Carter prevented Kayne Trevaskis from adding to their lead. The second half saw Hayle come more into the game and Shane Richards and Jason Roberts both went close to equalising and it was only a fine save from Jason Peters that kept out the latter's effort. The second goal came on 75 minutes when Rob Johns fouled Dave Broglino in the box for Richardson to step up and convert the penalty.
