GODOLPHIN 3 - PENRYN ATHLETIC 2
This was an evenly fought contest but it was the visitors who took the lead on the half hour when Jamie Thirkle raced through the home defence to hit an unstoppable drive into Sean Semmon's goal via the inside of the post. However, Godolphin were level on thirty seven minutes when Mark Rose cut in from the right to wrong-foot his marker before drilling the ball past Steve Raven from 18 yards.
Godolphin took the lead on the hour when Phil Lowry found the top corner of Penryn's goal with a powerful drive from twenty yards. Shortly afterwards, in controversial fashion, Pete Davey's header was adjudged to have crossed the line and equalise the scoreline.
However, the home side hit back in injury time with substitute Scott Wheilden pouncing to shoot home and score the winner.
