A poor performance at their first away league fixture meant Penryn went home empty-handed.

The first half was played at a fast pace with both sides coming close on a number of occasions. Goal opportunities fell to Mike Retter who hit the Penryn crossbar whilst Dan Stidwell, Dean Harris and Matt Drummond all came close for the visitors.

Penryn began to push forward during the second half and got caught on the break as Mick Gusterson broke away. His shot caused confusion in the Penryn defence and Dan Balson fired home the winner in the seventy-fifth minute.
